The thing about cell phone reviews is that they’re usually written after no more than a week or two of using a particular device. Anyone who’s ever owned a cell phone (or any daily use gadget) knows that the longer you stay with a cellie the more you get to know its ins and outs, strengths and weaknesses, and particular quirks. As such, a “professional review” written after only a week or so of testing simply can’t tell you what six months’ worth of talking, texting, and tweeting on a handset can.

After weeks of sitting at the $350 mark (and that’s after a $100 mail-in rebate, meaning you’ll have to shell out an obscene $450 out the door), Sprint has finally come down off of the high horse and decided to compete with Verizon’s $199 pricing (again, after a $150 mail-in rebate).

This quick video was shot with a Samsung Instinct HD in 720p mode and uploaded directly to YouTube without further processing. The source video is roughly 58MB per minute of recording time, which is on the large size considering the quality. Find more videos on our YouTube channel! The HD video output of the Samsung Instinct HD is pretty decent overall, but the files are very large: roughly 58MB per minute, which compares very poorly with the 15MB/min file sizes of the 720p videos I upload using a Canon HD camera and Sony Vegas video editing/rendering.
